Wedding Photography
Chris & Elin
Well, this will be typical say’s I to Meg, our Monty Folk Harpist during a break, it’s glorious weather today which is fantastic, as we were playing at a Gregynog function, but I need the sunshine for tomorrow, it’s a wedding shoot for Chris & Elin and most of the shoot will be outside, we have arranged the use of a beautiful garden right next to where the ceremony is taking place – and the weather forecast say’s – rain!
Well, tomorrow soon comes round and starts off, as per the weather forecast, light clouds, which will do me fine. I load up the lawn mower and head off to our amazing garden. The owners are away for a couple of weeks and the grass will be a tad long, so as an offer of my appreciation, I offer to give it a trim. All done and looking mighty fine.
Back home to get ready and then up to the Dragon Holel to find our groom. On the way I meet Lesley, from Montgomery Weddings who has been organising the ceremony room and Town Hall for the reception, everything is looking splendid and then Louise Corfield, the registrar pops in. We have a quick chat about photography protocols of which there are none – brill, then I go and try to find my groom, I don’t know what he looks like as we’ve only ever communicated by email but hold on a sec, who is this smart looking, nervously pacing up and down the rear carpark chap, that’s got to be Chris.
I introduce myself to Chris and ask how things are going, oh okaaaaay replies Chris, well, to take our minds of things, lets get you and dad out the front of the Hotel to take a few photos. While we are doing this I realise I’ve also not met Elin, don’t even know what car she will be arriving in, so we practice some “oh, here she comes” shots while I ask Chris about the vehicle and timing details.
The Town Hall clock chimes out 12 o’clock and sure enough, here comes the brides of honour with the page boys and closely behind – Elin.
Quick shot of the brides of honour and pageboys then we turn our attention to Elin, well, she looks amazing, I’m almost choking myself, goodness knows how Chris will react when he see’s her for the first time in her wedding dress - I think he'll be fine!
A few photos outside of Bride and father of the Bride, then I pop in to get ready for the walking down the aisle.
The ceremony is being held at the Dragon Hotel in the Den area, this provides a very cosy and personal setting for such an occasion and has a very fresh and clean atmosphere – ideal for small weddings such as this.
With the ceremony over the guest move outside while I find a few minutes to take some photos of the couple before the confetti.
I then pop outside and arrange the guest to form 2 lines and queue Mr & Mrs Keen to take the walk of happiness while being covered in confetti. With a kindly offer to have lunch, we then move onto the garden and so far the weather has been perfect – no need to worry at all.
