Ensemble Cymru Ensemble CymruAmazing musicianship and a beautiful location – a real pleasure to be asked by Peryn Clement-Evans, artistic director for Ensemble Cymru, to video and record a series of Chamber Music events at Gregynog Hall. We initially met up to look at how we could best capture these events with an emphasis on the idyllic surroundings of a historic music room at Gregynog and Ensemble Cymru’s passion for classical music accessible to everyone, from families with young children.....

Norah Butler - Cake Smash Cake Smash - what a mess!Well, this is not so much a commission - more a family photoshoot with my daughter insisting I try a Cake Smash Photoshoot as they are all the rage these days! So, yeah, let's do it, how hard can it be and as it's getting towards the Christmas themed photoshoot season, it will get me into the swing of things! The video on the right kinda shows just how hard it is to get a little toddler to stay on the matt and enjoy the balloons and cake. Poor m.....

After an exciting pre-wedding shoot back in May, (all but for a flat tyre on the way!) and lots of email exchanges, the big day is finally upon us. With so many activities planned as well as the marriage itself, it was going to be a challenge to be in all places at the same time to ensure the day was perfectly captured – but with the help of my second shooter and people a.....

Emma & Dan3-9-24 Once upon a time, a time before the last pandemic, I had a message asking if I would cover a wedding shoot for a friend’s daughter – which was a bit scary on two counts, 1, Mel is an amazing portrait photographer, 2 What if I forget! I was actually more worried about the fact that Mel was an amazing photographer herself, why can’t you do it yourself - cause I’m the mother of the bride was the reply, I could be the mother of the bride for the day but no, so the date w.....

Sally Gartell - Summer SpectacularWell – I have to say – hats off to Sally and her amazing team, what a performance and what a journey leading up to the show at Theatre Hafren. It’s been an absolute pleasure being involved with this. The rehearsals were amazing, seeing first hand the amount of effort put in to getting the dances spot on and the determination of the girls to be the best they can. Well done to all of those who took part, I’ve seen first-hand the exhaustion you’ve all bee.....

Mid Wales Vintage Machinery ClubIt was a real pleasure to be invited back to the Mid Wales Vintage Machinery Club rally, Caersws Vintage Rally at Red House Farm.Last year was a great introduction for us to see how things came together and this year we were blown away with how much the whole setup had been improved. This was obviously as a result of the call out last year for feedback from the clubs secretary Toby Lloyd and the whole committee obviously pulled resources together to make this year.....

Photoshoot at Gregynog Hall A Conversation.....It started with a conversation in a pub, I was filming a local band and bumped into Sally who was, as it happened, dancing away to that local band. Hey Adam Sally says, I said ‘WHAT’! The band is so loud, tonight it was Monty’s own Doris playing and they had some Led Zeppelin up their sleeves which meant all amp controls up to 11 !ADAM – shouted Sally, I’d like to do another ‘location photoshoot’ but can’t think where to do it, so we.....

Studio Photoshoot They say….. children and animals are best left alone in the photography world and to be fair, you would be forgiven for agreeing but in this case, it was a blast – such cuties. Once everyone had got use to the strange guy with the camera in his hand and – what must have appeared to be gigantic studio lights to the little ones, (They are actually small as far as studio lights go – but very portable), we had a blast. Big shout out to Sally for organising and arranging her.....

Another great morning spent over at Wynnstay and this time being videoed as I take pictures which is something I’ve always wanted to do to show the photography process but never really had chance. Working with the Marketing manager, Sian, made the whole process a walk in the park and despite the freezing conditions outside, the key staff members were very willing and accommodating. CEO Gareth was very approachable and enthusiastic to get the images that Sian needed for her library and inclusio ......

‘Hello Adam’ said one of the teachers as the children arrive at the Garden of Remembrance in Montgomery, ‘has it been a year since I last saw you here’ – goodness me, it had and how quickly those months have flown by. It is always a lovely sight to see the children take part in the Montgomery Remembrance service, it is obvious how heartfelt they all feel about this particular event where the children come to lay into the ground the remembrance crosses with the names of the men who had ......
Illyria Theatre - A Midsummer Night’s Dream

The last time I was up at the castle I nearly passed out from the heat, that was last week, now I have a coat on and umbrella in case I need to stop rain getting into my camera! Another spectacular show from those at Illyria, full of energy and great timing and good use of stage props. I have to admit, I do tend to lose track of the full plot as the night draws on and the available light becomes more of a challenge, concentrating through the lens to try and capture those action moments, I e ......
