Ross On Wye

May 24^th 2025 – location, the river Wye in a field somewhere along the A40!

This was a long time in the making as Penny had tried to arrange this during the winter of 2024 but due to incredibly bad weather, it had to be postponed on a number of occasions.

We finally got there though, and the brief for this shoot was to capture the anglers happy and sad as with other Fish Legal shoots.

This was in fact Penny’s final shoot with me as she would be stepping down from her position at Fish Legal, it will be sad to see her go, as with all the shoots with Fish Legal, it’s been a joy working with them.... but, in true Penny / G17 fashion, Penny could not find the location and had to be rescued, this time by one of the anglers, as I was in full flow with the rest of the boys at the riverbank.

While waiting for Penny, it was great to get some time talking to the anglers and along the way, learn a bit about fishing and the river which helped during the shoot as I could shout out – “Cast” while flying the drone close enough not to get caught by a hook and end up as a “catch of the day”

When Penny had arrived, she gathered the anglers together to update them on the current legal situation, there had been a few court wins but the legal journey to cleaning up the river Wye was still ongoing.

It was then down to me to organise the anglers so we started off with some happy / silly shots to break the ice after which, they had got use to me and I got to know them in terms of composition and grouping.

All done and dusted, a great mornings shoot with a lovely bunch of guys and as always, a pleasure to contribute in whatever way for Fish Legal.
