Hannah & Llewelyn
Okay, are you sure you’ve got everything, check and check again. I don’t know about you but sometimes, just sometimes, it feels like the first time.
This wedding shoot was a bit different for me this time round as Hannah had booked Laura May for her shoot and needed me to cover the filming for the day – we also offered to cover the wedding rehearsal and preparation of the reception venue that was being held at their family home at Edderton Hall to add to the story.
Hannah mentioned that Laura could not stay for the first dance and asked if I would provide the stills for that – no problem – must remember camera!
To capture the day to the fullest extent and detail, we brought along an assortment of equipment. Gimbals for those nice steady smooth filming movements, studio grade microphones to capture all the detail of the ceremony, wireless microphone transmitter to record the speeches from a distance, LED lights and stands for the dance area (variable colour and power outputs) and a drone to show the splendour of the church and venue in all its glory.
To add to the overall mix of the recording, I asked my trusty assistant and beautiful wife, Sue, to pop over for the ceremony with a camera and tripod and record from the other end of the church so I could get different perspectives and capture the bride and eventually, the bride and groom walking down the aisle from both directions.
My objective was to record the day to create a story timeline but also capture those little details which basically involved standing back and let things happen in front of me as opposed to organising and arranging family, bride and groom etc, this is where Laura May, the photographer came in.
Poor Laura had her hands full with the weather changing so much, from strong sun to dark clouds then very strong winds where it was a job for any guest wearing a hat not to loose it and as for the wedding dress veil – even more of a challenge to stop that knocking into my drone 30m’s up or flying into the next county!
Hannah looked amazing, her dress pure white, the bridesmaids looked just as good in beautiful green dresses. The makeup artists and hair stylists did an amazing job and were on hand to make any final adjustments as required.
So, the first dance is done and more merriment is due to the early hours but for this spring chicken, it’s time to get back and upload – oh – 12 hours of footage!
