February 14th 2026
We don't need a photographer!
Julie catches me while I'm installing a new WIFI system at her Astro Trails office. Adam, are you free on the 14th February 2026? Er, I'll be taking the wife out for a valentines meal? I reply nervously, wondering if Julie realises I'm a married man.... Simon & I are getting married, oh..... right, phew, oh gosh, how wonderful, would you like a photographer!?
No Julie replies, can you look after the cat.....
Simon walks in, you've not asked him to be our photographer have you, he say's to Julie while giving me a little grin! This has to be the most awkward WIFI I've installed for a while!
Julie and I now ignore Simon completely and start discussions on venues, times, preparations etc. Julies says that they will be getting married before the 14th, a private ceremony, the 14th is all about celebration, friends and family.
As the time quickly catches up with everyone, Julie and I have a quick meeting to discuss tactics. Julie explains that they are looking for a minimal shoot, no formal photos and minimal couple shots due to Simons fear of the camera. I suggest to Julie that I'm more than happy to take things as they come on the day and check as we go along with what can be captured in case anyone has a change of mind.
The requirement for me would be 3 hours tops, again, I suggested that if I was needed to stay longer, that would be fine, I would check with Julie and Simon on the day, if they end up with more photos than they required, well, you can never have enough, but they could pick and choose as they wished.
Anyhow, I think the wedding was amazing, beautiful bride & groom, a wonderful group of people all there and showing their love and support for Julie & Simon. A very special day for a very special couple.
This from Simon soon after the wedding - spelling corrected
"Adam we had a great day on Saturday and thanks to you we have it immortalised in photos. I probably wouldn't have had a photographer but really glad we did and we are so lucky to have someone in our friendship group with the skills to do it. Thank you."
